How to get to Berlin city center from the Airport

By Train: The airport station “BER – Terminal 1-2” is located directly under Terminal 1 on level U2.  The fastest connections from the airport to the main station are the regional trains. The train journey takes 35 minutes. 

The following connections are available:

  • Airport Express (FEX) in the direction of S+U Berlin Hauptbahnhof (tief): this train departs at xx:28 and at xx:58 every hour.
  • RB23 in the direction of Potsdam, Golm Bhf: this train departs at xx:13 every hour.
  • RE8 in the direction of Wismar, Bahnhof: this train departs at xx:44 every hour.

Alternatively, the S-Bahn trains S9 in the direction of S Spandau Bhf from platform 5. 

A one way transfer ticket from the BER to the city center costs 4€.

By Taxi: Taxis are available in the airport area at the North and South taxi ranks. These are located in front of Terminal 1 on Level E0. 

Berlin taxis are beige and have a yellow taxi sign on the roof. The cost for the route from the airport to the city center is about 75 euros.

 

Accommodation

Berlin has an extensive tourism infrastructure and offers many options for accommodation, including hotels, AirBnBs, guesthouses, bed and breakfasts, and more, all at a reasonable price range. However, during the peak tourist season in Berlin, which is typically during the summer months, availability can be limited. Therefore, it’s strongly advised that you make your accommodation arrangements as early as possible.
